SnowTiger Training Curriculum: Ranking & Testing:

BASIC COURSES FOR BEGINNING STUDENTS TO GREEN BELT >>

 

Each student endures a two-year course of practice in select aspects of traditional and non-traditional disciplines outlined in the curriculum, in order to become prepared for the rigors of SnowTiger training. This period will begin at white belt and go to green belt; after green belt they will begin learning the animal systems of SnowTiger.

SnowTiger Black Belt – (1st to 10th Degree)

Once the basic systems have been mastered and the green belt grade acquired, SnowTiger students then start their training in animal systems. Using the basic principles of the way a violent animal defends itself and attacks for the hunt, the SnowTiger practitioners have, for centuries, studied the methodologies of animal combat, creating a lethal system of death using only the body. The list of the animal styles and their techniques are found on this site. The animals are styles (sub-sets of the overall system), and are complete systems within themselves. The animals systems are based on the individual animal’s personality and physicality and are designed to mimic the animal’s response in violent situations.

Belts and Rank

The concept of belts and rank is probably one that most people associate with SnowTiger and martial arts in general, even if they only have a passing interest in the subject. 

​

In SnowTiger, our belts reflect a member's proven level of competence and (just as importantly) the progression of colors reflects an inner journey that never truly ends.  Each belt achieved is truly an accomplishment worthy of respect.  It is also worth noting that achieving a belt isn't just a matter of "spending enough time" in a previous belt.  In order to achieve their next rank, a student must demonstrate their proficiency in their current belt's techniques, to include Basic Technique, Reading, Sparring and Forms (Kata).  As the student enters the system they will be taken through a myriad of training exercises to acclimate them to the physicality of the style and what is required of them and their bodies. They will begin learning an eclectic mix of specialized aspects of various styles (as described above) and then, as they achieve black belt, they will then be indoctrinated into the International SnowTiger Society and learn of the animal systems.

SnowTiger is a lethal art and should only be taught to those who have earned the right to learn such an esteemed system of combat. As a ‘kill system’ it is obvious that it should not be taught to the average civilian and so only select elements of the training in SnowTiger will initially be taught to young black belts.

After 2 years once the student has completed the intense curriculum and has earned purple Belt ranking in SnowTiger Recruits Training, then he / she will automatically earn a Green belt in SnowTiger after testing a combination of White & Green belt then would be automatically slotted for testing in Brown belt within 6 months.
